This space action game with strategy and role-playing elements follows a pirate assembling a fleet and travelling towards the galactic core in search of treasure or knowledge. Earth has become a toxic backwater, and travel between star systems is restricted to guarded warp gates. Systems nearer the core are richer and more advanced, prompting theories about a secret hidden there.
The player explores a randomly generated galaxy, fights enemies and zombies, takes on missions, and deals with warring factions. During combat, the fleet can be given orders, ships can be changed, and fleet AI settings adjusted. Destroying enemies unlocks new ships, while discovered components and research points allow the fleet to be upgraded and customized. The zombie infestation spreads as a multi-tiered ecosystem.
