Set in 2054, this post-apocalyptic strategy game combines squad-based tactical combat with global management. Fifty years after a disaster made Earth’s surface uninhabitable, humanity’s survivors took refuge in the flying colony of Laputa. A revolt against its corrupt leadership destroyed the settlement, leaving the survivors to reclaim Earth from the forces that drove them into the skies.
In UFO: Aftershock, the player manages bases and resources while leading a squad through tactical missions. Battles take place inside and outside multi-level buildings, with destructible environments and a simultaneous action system. The campaign also involves researching technologies, developing weapons and squad members, and using diplomacy.
