Nanostray 2 is a futuristic scrolling shooter built around the mystery of the Nanostray virus. In Adventure mode, players tackle levels with alternating vertical and horizontal perspectives, fight enemies and giant bosses, and unlock and configure six ship weapons. A special gauge fills as groups of enemies are destroyed, granting score multiplier bonuses.
Arcade mode lets players replay Adventure levels without the story, while Challenge mode features 32 tasks set in different environments. Completing sets of challenges unlocks four simulator games focused on high scores. The game also includes two-player cooperative play and duels.
