A vertically scrolling shooter in a futuristic setting, Image Fight follows an OF-1 fighter pilot battling alien invaders who attacked Earth after destroying its lunar base. Before entering actual combat, the pilot faces a series of simulation stages that test the ability to destroy enemy forces.
The simulation has five stages, each followed by a performance report. An average kill rate of at least 90% allows immediate entry into real combat; otherwise, an extra stage must be completed. The combat section consists of three stages. The game’s pods float alongside the fighter once collected, and the red pod changes direction with the ship’s movement, allowing it to be aimed at enemies.
