This first-person arcade shooter recreates the assault on the Death Star from Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope. The player pilots Luke Skywalker’s X-wing through three linked phases: fighting TIE fighters in space, flying over the Death Star’s surface, and making a run through its trench.
Destroying every enemy is not necessary to advance; the player must survive for a set time by dodging attacks or shooting down enemies and their projectiles. The fighter has six shields, each lost when hit, and another hit after they are gone ends the game. The Death Star reappears after each destruction, with attacks and obstacles growing more difficult.
