Star Ship is an arcade space shooter played from inside a starship cockpit, where the player fires lasers at objects in space. Destroying targets earns points, while collisions with them or with asteroids cost points. Other variations involve dodging asteroids, competing against another player, travelling through space as quickly as possible, or landing a lunar module that tries to evade pursuit.
In single-player mode, the difficulty settings control how many objects appear and how fast they move. In two-player mode, players take turns piloting the starship and the module: the starship pursues and shoots, while the module dodges lasers and can turn invisible near the opponent’s crosshairs. Difficulty options also adjust whether space objects and asteroids appear and how quickly they move.
