A turn-based Japanese role-playing game set in a fantastical version of World War I, where magic and creatures exist alongside the war. Set six months after the events of Shadow Hearts, the story follows Yuri as he travels with his friends to find a cure for a curse that has weakened his shapeshifting abilities and to stop a secret society seeking to exploit the conflict for world domination.
In battle, the player chooses which characters to bring into combat and uses the Judgment Ring system, in which speed and accuracy affect the outcome of an encounter. The sequel expands the system with team-based combo attacks.
