Red Faction: Armageddon is a third-person science-fiction shooter about survival on Mars, where the destruction of the Terraformer has turned the planet’s surface into a storm-ravaged wasteland. The colonists have taken refuge in underground mines and caves, while Darius Mason awakens an ancient threat by opening a mysterious shaft in a Marauder temple. He and the Red Faction must fight for humanity’s future across the surface and beneath Mars.
In combat, Darius uses weapons and the Nano Forge, which can unleash powerful blasts or rebuild damaged colonist defenses with Geo-Mod 2.0. Alongside the story campaign, the game includes Infestation, a cooperative mode with waves of enemies, and Ruin, a destruction-focused mode.
Red Faction: Armageddon es un excelente shooter. Aunque no tuvo éxito comercial, puede ser memorable durante mucho tiempo. Si estás cansado de los informes de misión y los informes posteriores a su finalización, Armageddon no te quitará tiempo extra.

La cuarta entrega de la serie Red Faction optó por desarrollar la historia, dejando los elementos de jugabilidad en un segundo plano.
En esta ocasión, jugamos como un descendiente del protagonista de Red Faction Guerrilla, quien accidentalmente libera una forma de vida creada por el científico loco Čapek. Darius, como se llama el protagonista, deberá afrontar las consecuencias de sus actos, armado con un amplio arsenal de armas y una nanoforja. Hay armas para todos los gustos (desde una pistola hasta un nanorifle; ni siquiera mencionaré los ponis). También existen diversas habilidades que se pueden adquirir con chatarra: levantar enemigos por los aires, aumentar la salud, etc.

В этот раз мы играем за потомка главного героя Red Faction Guerrilla, который случайно высвобождает некую форму жизни, созданную безумным учёным Чапеком. Дариус, так зовут протагониста, будет расхлёбывать последствия своих действий, вооружившись большим арсеналом пушек и нанокузницей. Оружия здесь есть на любой вкус (от пистолета до нановинтовки; про пони я говорить не буду). Ещё есть различные способности, которые можно покупать за металлолом: подъем врагов в воздух, повышение здоровья и т.д.
