Outcast (1999)

This science-fiction action-adventure sends former special forces operative Cutter Slade to the parallel world of Adelpha. After an alien life form damages a probe there, the resulting black hole threatens Earth, and Slade is tasked with retrieving the device. He loses contact with the scientists accompanying him upon arrival, while the local Talan regard him as their messiah, Ulukai.

The player explores Adelpha’s regions from a first- or third-person perspective, talks with the Talan, learns about their world and completes tasks connected to finding the probe. The inhabitants’ attitude depends on Slade’s actions: helping them improves his reputation and makes them more willing to cooperate, while harming them makes them hostile. Daoka portals connect the regions, F-LINK beacons enable travel within a region, and the rideable twon-ha helps cover long distances more quickly.
