A futuristic side-scrolling arcade shooter set in dangerous three-dimensional environments. Enemies attack from every direction, including the background, while the controls use the right stick for aiming and firing. In solo play, the player can choose a mercenary such as Ruby or Tempest; each character has three main weapons and special attacks.
Local co-op supports two players. New characters, modes, and options can be unlocked as the game progresses. The ++ Mode offers a higher challenge, allowing the character to take only one hit.
