This Japanese role-playing game follows Neptune, the CPU and protector of Planeptune, after she is pulled into an alternate dimension of Gamindustri resembling the late 1980s. To return home, she must collect enough shares and face the Seven Sages, who seek to rid Gamindustri of its CPUs. Along the way, Neptune forms cross-dimensional friendships and tries to save the alternate world.
Combat lets players customize attack combos of up to five moves, while crafted equipment can unlock new skills for the CPUs. Plans can alter aspects of Gamindustri, including dungeon treasure and enemy difficulty. In the real-time mini-game Stella’s Dungeon, Stella searches for items and can bring friends whose special skills support her expedition.
