This third-person crime action game follows Kazuma Kiryu, a former underworld figure who has severed ties with his old life and works as a taxi driver in Hakata. When a bloody war breaks out between the Tojo Clan and the Omi Alliance, Kiryu is drawn back into the criminal world to protect his loved ones. The story also follows Haruka Sawamura, Taiga Saejima, Tatsuo Shinada, and Shun Akiyama.
The five protagonists’ stories unfold across Tokyo, Osaka, Hakata, Nagoya, and Sapporo. Each has an extensive set of subplots in the Another Drama series. The combat and character customization systems have been enhanced from Yakuza 4, and familiar locations offer minigames, including activities at nightclubs and CLUB SEGA venues.
