A life simulation with puzzle elements, The Sims 2: Pets lets Sims share their everyday lives with dogs, cats and other household animals. Players create pets by choosing their breed, appearance, markings and personality, while guiding their Sims through life goals related to family, fortune, popularity and romance.
Sims can encourage and train pets to perform tricks such as shaking a paw or playing dead. Without training, animals may dig in the yard, claw furniture or knock over the trash. Sims and their pets can visit parks, meet other characters and spend time at a town center that changes over time. The center also offers clothing and accessories for pets.
