An expansion for Sid Meier's Civilization 4, this turn-based historical strategy game add-on broadens the options for developing a civilization in the era after the invention of gunpowder. It introduces scenarios, civilizations, leaders, units, buildings, technologies, and wonders, with particular emphasis on the later stages of the game.
Players can found corporations and spread them around the world, gaining benefits in exchange for certain resources. Espionage provides ways to monitor rivals, stir unrest, and protect state secrets, while random events bring new challenges. Expanded diplomatic options and changes to the race for a space victory add further paths to success.
