This platform action game with metroidvania elements follows half-genie Shantae on an adventure through the magical land of Sequin. She faces the pirate Risky Boots and sets out to save her homeland, exploring deserts, forests, caverns and labyrinths, meeting other characters and fighting bosses.
Shantae learns spells and belly-dancing moves that let her transform into a monkey, an elephant and a mermaid, each with distinct abilities. Labyrinths contain puzzles, spells and upgrades; other activities include brewing zombie coffee and saving golden babies.
