This tactical action game is set in Japan’s Sengoku, or Warring States, period, which followed the weakening of the Ashikaga Shogunate in 1467. The story centers on samurai Yukimura Sanada, who leads a band of samurai and ninja, while players can also choose other legendary warriors. Battles take place on historical Japanese battlefields and inside Osaka Castle, against gun-wielding troops, ninja, and kunoichi.
Missions change according to the player’s performance and the course of battle, and success or failure can affect later stages. The mission chain has 500 variations. The AFS randomly generates castle levels and conquest routes, changing the course of each playthrough.
