Samurai Warriors 2: Xtreme Legends is a third-person historical action game about samurai and battles in feudal Japan. It adds six characters with individual story scenarios: Toshiie Maeda, Katsuie Shibata, Kojiro Sasaki, Gracia, Yoshimoto Imagawa, and Chosokabe Motochika.
In Mercenary mode, the player leads a band, hires samurai, and completes missions for rewards. The game adds the Okehazama and Shikoku battlefields, new Charge attacks and fifth weapons for characters, and raises maximum growth levels. Story and Free modes support two-player co-op, while the new characters can also be used in Samurai Warriors 2's Story, Survival, and Sugoroku modes.
