This platform arcade game based on the Popeye stories follows the sailor as he collects items dropped by Olive Oyl while avoiding the pursuing Brutus. Across three single-screen stages, Popeye must gather hearts, musical notes, or the letters in HELP while evading enemies and hazardous objects. He can punch to destroy threats such as bottles, but can only take on Brutus after eating a can of spinach.
Spinach makes Popeye temporarily invulnerable and lets him knock Brutus out for a short time. On one stage, a bucket can also be dropped onto Brutus to stun him. The stages repeat after completion, with the difficulty increasing each cycle.
