Set against an ’80s-inspired backdrop, this music runner follows a race toward the sunset on which a passenger’s life depends. The woman’s heart has been replaced by the car’s engine, so the driver must keep it running; if the engine stops, she dies.
The car travels along an endless, procedurally generated road through neon mountain ranges and beaches, accompanied by synthwave music. OutDrive combines racing with music-runner gameplay and emphasizes a retro aesthetic of neon lights and VHS imagery.
