Klax is an arcade puzzle game built around colored tiles moving down a conveyor belt toward a paddle at the bottom of the screen. The player moves the paddle to catch the tiles and drop them into a well, forming lines of three or more matching colors horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. Completed lines disappear, making room for the remaining tiles.
The paddle can hold up to five tiles, while the well has space for up to 25, so their placement must be managed to avoid filling up. Missed tiles and an already-full paddle count as drops. The game is divided into 100 waves; after every fifth wave, the player chooses one of three options for the next wave. Selecting a later wave awards bonus points and allows more drops.
