This side-scrolling action game with fighting elements follows an unnamed martial artist as he enters Akuma’s fortress to rescue Princess Mariko. The hero advances through a linear level, overcoming hazards and facing enemies one at a time, while brief cutscenes show Akuma’s orders and Mariko’s predicament.
Combat involves taking a stance, punching, kicking, and dodging. The hero and each opponent have health bars that gradually recover if they avoid taking hits for long enough. Threats include Akuma’s trained hawk and deadly hazards inside the fortress; defeat sends the player back to the beginning.
