This anime fighting game features battles between more than twenty combatants, including hidden characters and EX variants. Each fighter has a range of moves and combos, as well as a signature Instant Kill. Nine modes are available, including one-on-one battles, a knockout competition and online matches.

The Story mode explores the truth about the Gears and has multiple endings. Survival spans 1,000 levels, while Mission challenges require defeating opponents under specific conditions. Characters, modes and other content can be unlocked through play.
