An adventure game about searching for dinosaur fossils in exotic locations and battling living fossils known as Vivosaurs. Players explore in buggies and send out radar pulses to locate dig sites. Each vehicle has different strengths: some are faster and can reach distant areas, while others carry more items.
Fossils must be cleaned with tools such as hammers and drills using the touch screen; careful excavation makes the resulting Vivosaur more effective in battle. Up to three players can team up to explore and excavate, while Vivosaur battles pit teams of three against one another, with up to six participants.
