This third-person action shooter about combat between giant robots is set on Mars, where a conflict between corporations has moved 67 years after the devastation of Earth. Having abandoned the planet’s ruins, the corporations seek to exploit Mars and fight their rivals with Armored Core machines. In Armored Core 2, players take part in battles and configure their robots using a range of parts and equipment.
More than 200 parts are available, including internal equipment and extension packs. The game features single-player missions, arenas where players can challenge over 45 rival ACs, and separate stages for versus battles. Over Boost propulsion lets an AC reach high speeds.
